Custom Cabinetry a Focus of Allure Cabinetry & Showroom

At Allure Cabinetry & Showroom of Naples, it’s all about custom cabinetry and the experience clients will have in the showroom.

More than 20 displays, including cutting-edge kitchens, spectacular bathrooms and breathtaking outdoor living areas, as well as a wine room, bar room, home office and library can be found throughout the 8,400-square-foot space located at 3573 Mercantile Avenue.

Conceived as the ultimate one-stop-and-you’re-done showroom for builders, architects, interior designers and homeowners looking to build new homes or improve an existing one, Allure showcases not only the finest of products, but the latest trends.

“Those latest trends can be discovered throughout the showroom, especially in our kitchen and bathroom displays, which comprise the majority of the space,” said Kelly Erdmann, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Allure.

More than 50 percent of the 8,400 square feet at Allure Cabinetry & Showroom has been dedicated to kitchens and bathrooms, two of the most important – and renovated – rooms in a home.

According to Erdmann, Allure has a wide variety of kitchen and bathroom designs from some of the country’s finest custom cabinet manufacturers.

“In several instances we have exclusive agreements with national cabinet manufacturers who understand what makes our showroom different from others in the Southwest Florida marketplace,” she said.

Cabinet lines on display at Allure include Bentwood, Elmwood, Harmoni, Greenfield, Siteline, NatureKast and Waterfall. Transitional, contemporary and traditional cabinet styles are all represented.

Bentwood Luxury Kitchens is one of the companies that has an exclusive agreement with Allure. Bentwood, which was founded in 1989, is a highly respected custom cabinetry and furniture making company and is very particular with whom they do business.

“We’re extremely happy to partner with the team at Allure,” said Randy Pittard, one of Bentwood’s three principals. “We believe our custom products perfectly fit the clientele of Allure and the Naples market in general.”

Bentwood will be represented in several areas in the showroom, including the primary kitchen and a very modern kitchen in the contemporary section. Pittard said the kitchen designs will reflect today’s tastes, especially those of the Baby Boomer generation.

“When we started in the late 80s traditional styling was big,” said Pittard. “Today it’s more transitional and contemporary. That’s the European influence. Simple, clean lines – and often with lighter woods, like oak, but with a natural finish.”

According to Pittard, the custom cabinetry business has grown at a steady pace over the past few years.

“When clients are building a new home or remodeling an older home the majority of them want kitchens and baths that are unique, not only to them, but their neighborhood,” said Pittard. “That’s why many want custom – a one-of-a-kind. They want a style to call their own.”

To get a “style of their own” takes a little time.

While some clients will select cabinetry from a manufacturer’s collection, which includes exclusive designs and a variety of wood species, finishes and decorative touches, others choose to actually create their own design and then work with the dealer and manufacturer to make their vision a reality.

“In our case a typical kitchen will take 12 weeks to build,” Pittard said. “Within the first two weeks we send the client a cabinet door and a drawer front so they have a tangible feel for what the final product will look like.”

Once approved by the client, the cabinets are created and then shipped off to the dealer, who will install the final product to exact specifications.

“Our exclusive dealers, such as Allure in Naples, play an integral role throughout the entire process,” stated Pittard. “We make the best, so we only partner with the best. It’s what our clients expect.”

Showroom Design Expert Ellen Cheever Leaves Mark on Allure

Allure Cabinetry & Showroom is more than a showroom – it’s an experience.

More than 20 displays, including cutting-edge kitchens, spectacular bathrooms and breathtaking outdoor living areas, as well as a wine room, bar room, home office and library can be found throughout the 8,400-square-foot space located at 3573 Mercantile Avenue in Naples.

Conceived as the ultimate one-stop-and-you’re-done showroom for builders, architects, interior designers and homeowners looking to build new homes or improve an existing one, Allure showcases not only the finest of products, but the latest trends.

The layout and design of Allure Cabinetry and Showroom was no accident. The placement of every display was carefully planned with the help of Ellen Cheever, an author and marketing specialist whose innovative design solutions has helped shape and create showroom spaces over the past 44 years throughout the country.

“The biggest challenge at Allure was taking such a large space and make it human in scale,” said Cheever. “Clients need to feel comfortable the minute they walk through the door.”

That’s not a problem at Allure.

When clients enter the showroom they step into a large, open space with high ceilings. To the left is a luxurious tub with cascading waterfall behind it. To the right is an entertainment area with fireplace, bar and wood floor. A short distance ahead, just past a modern kitchen display, is the reception counter complete with coffee bar on the back wall.

Cheever said the openness of the showroom’s entrance has a purpose.

“Florida showrooms are designed differently from those in other parts of the country,” stated Cheever. “Florida is all about expansive, open spaces, and the showroom at Allure reflects that.”

According to Cheever, the purpose of a showroom is to allow the public to see a wide variety of different products and materials in real-life settings.

“That’s what Allure is all about – helping clients visualize their dream kitchen, dream bath or whatever room they want to add or change to enhance their Florida lifestyle,” said Cheever. “A showroom is a place where dreams are realized.”

A buyer’s biggest fear, according to Cheever’s research, is not getting what they thought they bought. “By seeing a display in a showroom they know exactly what they’ll be getting,” she said.

The displays at Allure actually play multiple roles.

“If a client is interested in a particular kitchen design for instance, rather than moving to a small conference room with the door closed, they can sit right at the kitchen counter,” said Cheever. “It’s a much more comfortable and relaxing environment to discuss their vision.”

It’s also very practical considering Florida’s demographic.

“Florida has an older clientele than many states. Having spots where people can sit, especially at or by the displays, not only gives them a place to rest and relax, but keeps product lines in front of them.”

The Allure showroom was also designed to be respectful of a client’s time.

“All baths are located in one area. All contemporary products or styles are also grouped together. This prevents wasting time as clients can be focus on exactly what they are looking for and see everything available just a short distance from each other,” said Cheever.

The final feature of Allure’s well-designed showroom is its ability to change.

“Over the years old displays will be replaced with new displays to reflect the changing styles and tastes,” said Cheever. “So the space you design today must be flexible for the popular trends of tomorrow.”

Allure Cabinetry & Showroom to Open in Naples

Two well-known members of the Southwest Florida construction industry have teamed up to open a kitchen and bath cabinetry company and showroom in Naples known as Allure Cabinetry & Showroom.

Tom Lykos and Bill Spinelli, with more than 50 years combined experience in the construction industry and both past presidents of the Collier Building Industry Association, are the masterminds behind the 8,400 square-foot showroom, located at 3573 Mercantile Avenue. The space, which is currently being remodeled, is slated for a February opening.

“This will be a totally new experience for customers and members of the trades alike,” said Spinelli. “It’s a holistic approach to kitchen and bath design as it offers one-stop shopping in a state-of-the-art showroom, something Naples hasn’t seen before.”

Once complete, the showroom will feature a multitude of vignettes including five kitchens, an outdoor kitchen, wine rooms, closets, family room and living room built-ins, home office space and more. Several of North America’s finest custom cabinet manufacturers will showcase the latest trends in the industry at Allure.

“Allure essentially eliminates the middleman which is why we believe our customers – including builders – will find this service so alluring,” Lykox explained. “It offers everyone a single source for budgeting, design and more importantly, control of the project from start to finish,”
